Stay healthy to stay wealthy
Staying healthy is a long term goal for many of us, if not all of us. How often do you go to the doctors? How about specialists? How often do you have to pick up a prescription? The more doctor visits and prescriptions you take, the more it costs you. Whether you have a deductible to meet or having to pay co-pays for every visit, this can add up. I’ve had my share of medical expenses in the past. Even with having health insurance to cover majority of my healthcare costs, paying your premiums and the additional costs that insurance doesn’t cover gets costly. That’s why I try to stay healthy to stay wealthy.
I’ve changed the way I view health. My approach is to change my lifestyle and incorporate more holistic ways. Eating more fruits and vegetables, eating out less, getting more sleep, reducing stress, and exercising more are ways I’m trying to improve my health by. This article isn’t meant to focus on healthy living rather the financial impacts of being healthier.
Ever since I started to change my lifestyle, I could tell my health was getting better little by little. I was able to reduce or eliminate some medications. Now, I only go to my doctors for routine checkups instead of repeated visits for continuous monitoring. The difference on my wallet is a money saver. I’m not spending my money for visits, lab tests, and prescriptions. I’m also getting back my time.
The point is to get healthier so you can focus more of your resources not on multiple doctor visits, multiple prescriptions, multiple lab tests, and so on. Making health a priority will help you in many ways including your financials. Remember, stay healthy to stay wealthy.
