A friend of mine asked me about the Chase Ink credit card and that he was thinking of opening one. I was happy that he came to me and the excitement made me forget about referrals. Certain Chase credit cards give referral bonuses when you refer someone to one of their credit cards. In this case, I totally forgot about it and missed an opportunity for the referral bonus. Lesson learned, don’t forget the referral. 

I’m kicking myself because missing out on an opportunity to get free Chase points is big to me. I love Chase points. I can use the points to book travel, cash out, transfer to travel partners, redeem for Apple products, and more. I missed out on 40K points! Wait…what!! 40K points is valued approximately $400, 8 Hyatt night when you transfer to Hyatt and reserve a 5000 per night hotel, or possibly 2 Southwest tickets if they’re 20K miles each. This is what I missed out. 

You may not realize but many vendors do have referral programs. For example, Sam’s Club and Costco have referral programs. Verizon and T-Mobile have one as well. Referral programs are an excellent way to bring customers in and reward those who do. We all have busy lives so I know there will be times where we’re just not thinking about it…just like me.
